The Alumni Association named three extraordinary educators as finalists for the Ralph B. Rogers Alumni Award. This award recognizes a member of the faculty or staff who has made an important and pioneering contribution to the mission of the School and the School community.

  • Teri Broom

    Ackerman Family Master Teaching Chair in Lower School

    Teri Broom has spent nearly 20 years guiding St. Mark’s youngest students with grace, patience, and unwavering care. As a first-grade teacher, she not only sets a strong academic foundation but also nurtures each boy with compassion, making new families feel welcomed and supported. Described by a parent as “special” for her ability to turn reassurance into lasting gratitude, Mrs. Broom exemplifies what it means to be a transformational educator. Her impact reaches beyond the classroom, shaping a warm and inclusive start to each boy’s journey. She is the Ackerman Family Master Teaching Chair in Lower School.

    Gene and Alice Oltrogge Master Teaching Chair

    Since joining the Foreign Language Department in 2016, Janet Lin has become a deeply involved and highly respected member of the St. Mark’s community. Known for her tireless commitment to students, she leads cultural exchanges, oversees student programs, and coordinates the all-school Lunar New Year celebration. A Cum Laude faculty member, she’s also served as a Class Sponsor and on the Discipline Council. Her passion and dedication have left a lasting impact on campus life, earning her recognition as the Gene and Alice Oltrogge Master Teaching Chair.

    Suzanne and Patrick McGee Family Master Teaching Chair in Mathematics

    Dr. Zuming Feng is a celebrated educator known for emphasizing critical thinking over rote memorization. He leads St. Mark’s renowned Math Team, connects students with global mentors, and has helped shape national and international math curricula, including leading the U.S. delegation to the International Math Olympiad.
