  • Yearbook Photos

    Yearbook photos will be taken by Scott Peek Photography throughout the week of Aug. 18, with each grade level scheduled for a specific time. Refer to the Orientation Week schedules above for your grade's time. 

    Students should arrive in Nearburg Hall and will be escorted to N232 by a volunteer for their photograph. Parents are asked to remain in the lobby during photos. Students should wear a white uniform shirt, a dark jacket, and a tie for their pictures. We will have a limited number of jacket sizes and ties on hand to borrow. Students may arrive at any point during their assigned time.

    Please note that the School's dress code policy applies to yearbook photos. Boys must be clean-shaven with appropriately kempt hair. For further information, consult page 264 of the Lion Tracks student handbook
  • Student Schedules & LS Class Lists

    Middle and Upper School students will be able to view their schedules on their smtexas.org account beginning Monday, Aug. 11. Parents will also be able to log in and see their son's schedule on Aug. 11.

  • Lower School Extended Day

    To register your child for the fall, please complete this form online. Registration will close at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21.
     
    The St. Mark’s Extended Day Program offers a safe and fun environment for Lower School students. It provides an opportunity to make friends, play, and study. The Extended Day Program operates on days that St. Mark’s Lower School is in session for a full day, unless otherwise noted – see the registration page for exceptions. 

    The first semester of the St. Mark’s Extended Day program will begin on Monday, August 25, 2025, and it will be available to students from school dismissal until 6 p.m. The fall 2025 tuition rate will be $1,950.

    The calendar is now available online. Parents can log in to their smtexas.org accounts to view the online directory. 

    Printed Calendars & Directories
    Middle and Upper School parents can pick up their calendars and directories in Nearburg Hall during yearbook photo sessions.

    Lower School directories and calendars will be distributed at Mini-School (Thursday, Aug. 21).

    Senior parents can stop by Nearburg Hall anytime during the week of Aug. 18-22 to pick up their calendar and directories, or can wait to receive them at the Senior Parent Kick-off Dinner on Aug. 27.
  • Online Tuition Management

    St. Mark's uses Blackbaud Tuition Management for tuition and fee invoices, payment processing and customer service.

  • Middle & Upper School Laptop Guidelines

    Boys in grades 5-12 will need a laptop to support their learning. Below are recommended specifications to support each boy’s classroom experience. More information is available on the Student Technology Resources page

    • Use either Windows or MacOS as their operating system. Mobile operating systems (iOS, Android, etc.), Chromebooks and iPads are insufficient.
    • Have a physical keyboard to facilitate typing.
    • Have a functioning webcam, microphone, and speakers.
    • Run a modern web browser. (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari)
    • Wi-Fi capable
    • Minimum of 8 GB RAM (RAM affects how quickly a device can run programs and open files. Students taking classes such as photography, film studies or graphic design should strongly consider additional RAM.)
    • A protective case is highly recommended.

    Other Dress Code Issues:

    Hair: Excesses of hairstyle and unkempt hair are out of bounds. No eccentric shaving  of the head, hair below the collar, dreadlocks below the top of the collar, hair tied in a ponytail, manbuns, or dyed hair is acceptable. No facial hair. Hair must not drop below the eyebrows or hide a student’s face. Sideburns may not grow below the bottom of the ear.

    Jewelry/Decoration: No earrings or other distracting ornaments; no tattoos or decorated skin are permitted.

    Uniform alternatives: If a Division Head declares “Free Dress Days,” good taste and appropriateness to the School’s atmosphere should be observed. Students in grades 5-12 may opt to wear a conservative shirt, slacks, sports jacket, and tie instead of the usual uniform. 

    All students representing St. Mark’s at events away from school, including athletic teams playing away games, wear appropriate attire as directed by their sponsor or coach and as approved by the appropriate Division Head. Coats and ties are the standard attire, but exceptions may be made based on the nature of the events attended and the nature of the travel.

    About
    The Lions' Closet offers new and gently-used school uniforms, St. Mark's-branded clothing (for adults and children), and spirit gear at discounted prices. The Lions' Closet is located on the first floor of the north library building (across from the entrance to the Chapel).

    Donations
    Please drop off your pre-washed, gently-used school uniforms and St. Mark's gear in the donation bin outside of the Lions' Closet. (Please note that personalized items will not be accepted. Any personalized items that are dropped off will be donated to charity.)
     
    Prices
    You can find both new and gently-used clothing items at the Lions' Closet at discount prices. The Lions' Closet has prices that range from free to $50 (new outerwear being the most expensive). Most clothing items are between $5 and $20.

    The Lions' Closet accepts cash, credit card, and Apple Pay. 

    St. Mark’s Lost and Found
    The Lost and Found is located in the hall outside the Lions' Closet. Items of value will be turned into the nearest divisional offices. At the end of each month, unclaimed clothing will be either donated directly to the Lions' Closet and/or local charities.
    Please label your son's clothes with his initials so that, if it ends up "lost," it can be easily "found."

  • Medical Certificate

    All new students, and all returning students entering grades 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 must submit a completed medical certificate before school starts.

    Attention: Class of 2029
    All freshmen must have an updated medical certificate on file before departing for the Pecos Wilderness Trip.

  • Textbooks (Grades 5-12)

    Textbooks should ship to each Middle and Upper School student's home the week of August 11. Students who were enrolled prior to this year can check their school emails to find the tracking number for the box of books. 

    Parents of new students are welcome to check with Nancy Goldberg, Student Store Manager (goldbergn@smtexas.org), if their son’s books have not arrived by the week of August 18.
  • Lion Pride Night – Sept. 5

    Lion Pride Night, the annual all-school spirit party, will be Friday, Sept. 5, beginning at 5:30 p.m. on the Quad. This year, the Parents' Association is providing families with complimentary meals from Goff's Hamburgers. No need to register – come pick up a burger, veggie burger, or grilled cheese and a frozen treat while they last. After kickoff, concessions will be available in the Zierk Athletic Center.

    New Lower School students will be celebrated before the game with a special presentation on the field, with the help of the cheerleaders. 
  • Fun Day – Sept. 26 (Grades 1-4)

    Boys in grades 1-4 are invited to Fun Day, hosted by the Parents' Associations of St. Mark's and Hockaday. It will be an afternoon of rides, inflatables, games, dinner, dessert, and fun! All Lower School boys will receive a Fun Day t-shirt to wear on Sept. 26. 

  • Grandparents' Day – Nov. 21

    St. Mark’s annual Grandparents’ Day is Friday, Nov. 21. Your son’s grandparents will receive a mailed invitation in October if their names and addresses were provided on your enrollment forms.

  • Celebrate Community – March 7, 2026

    Next March, the Parents’ Association will once again host Celebrate Community. This parents-only event will be a night of food, music, and fun to strengthen the pride of our parent community. Please save the date for this special, casual evening with your fellow Lion parents!
