The orchestra programs offer boys the chance to express their creative sides while learning the technical skills of music and instruments.
The orchestra program nurtures students’ musical growth from their first note through advanced ensemble performance. Beginning Strings courses are designed for boys with no prior experience, offering an accelerated introduction that builds a solid foundation for continued study.

At the Elementary level, students strengthen sight reading and technique while progressing from simple pieces to multi-part arrangements. Intermediate and Advanced Strings challenge students with more complex keys, rhythms, and bowings, preparing them for higher-level ensemble playing.

For Upper School musicians, Orchestra and Orchestra Honors provide opportunities to rehearse and perform a wide range of standard string literature, emphasizing musical expression and style from Baroque to Contemporary works.

Throughout each stage, the orchestra program encourages discipline, collaboration, and artistry, helping students build confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
