Harlequin Players

The Madwoman of Challiot

Harlequins' first 1970 production was Jean Giraudoux's fantasy The Madwoman of Chaillot. Filled with subtle political satire, the show featured an enormous cast, headed by Jennifer Johanos as the Madwoman, Shelly Chance as Irma, Julian Gamble as the Prospector, Jay Longan as the President, and Chris Benjamin as the Baron; Gary Pearle's comedic role as the Sewer-Man quickly became a Harlequin classic.
