Harlequin Players

Uncle Vanya

Uncle Vanya, the second production of the 1970 season, introduced Harlequin Players to the theatre-of-the-ordinary oeuvre of Anton Chekhov. This melancholic exploration of boredom, frustration, and unhappiness in a declining Russian family was produced in 3/4-round with period 1890s costumes. Lead roles were played by Julian Gamble, Jennifer Johanos, Cathy Poag, Adrienne Giller, Jay Longan, Gary Pearle, and Terry Vandivort.
