<i>The ReMarker</i> Wins Pacemaker Award

At the National Scholastic Press Association’s fall convention, The ReMarker student newspaper received its ninth Pacemaker Award, the highest award given by the association. The Pacemaker Award is judged by professional media representatives who consider each newspaper’s coverage and content, quality of writing and reporting, leadership on the opinion page, evidence of in-depth reporting, layout and design, and photography, art, and graphics.
 
Editor of The ReMarker was Dylan Clark ’14, now a student at Harvard University. Additionally, four students’ individual work received national honors: Dylan Clark, and Aidan Dewar ’14 placed second in the nation for News Writing; Matthew Conley ’15 placed second in the nation for Page One Design; Zuyva Sevilla ’15 placed second in the nation for Infographic Design; and Matt Mahowald ’14 placed fourth in the nation for Yearbook Design.
 
The ReMarker also received the national award for its 2005, 2009, 2011, and 2013 editions. Newspapers were named Pacemaker finalists in 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2010.
 
Members of the Class of 2014 who held positions on the 2013–2014 newspaper include Halbert Bai, John Caldwell, Tabish Dayani, Aidan Dewar, Teddy Edwards, Andrew Gatherer, Cole Gerthoffer, Vishal Gokani, Charlie Golden, Riley Graham, Andrew Hatfield, Sam Khoshbin, Ryan O’Meara, Alexander Muñoz, Nabeel Muscatwalla, and Ford Robinson.
