New Press Box Enhances Stadium

As the Lions take the field this fall and fans flock to Norma and Lamar Hunt Family Stadium, they will be greeted by a new press box perched above the visitors' stands. Large enough to accommodate a broadcast booth, the new box is a huge expansion from its predecessor, with rooms for both home and visiting coaches. In addition, videographers will be able to film from the roof instead of using the scissor lifts from previous seasons.

Completing the original Plan of Development for stadium renovations, the new press box replaces a temporary box that had resided above the home bleachers for the past eight years. That temporary box will be removed to create more seating for the coming season.

The new press box is scheduled to be up and running in time for the Varsity football team's opener against Mart on September 6 and was already visible as the football team began two-a-days earlier this month. The School's athletic and technology teams have been hard at work to ensure the box is properly wired to the stadium's scoreboard and sound system and is ready to bring a whole new dimension to Hunt Family Stadium.
