Choir Returns from England Tour

On July 5, 2013, the Upper and Middle School Choirs left for a 17-day trip to England. Led by Choirmaster Tinsley Silcox and Assistant Choirmaster Glenn Stroh, the 23 boys were accompanied by three members of the Schola and seven other chaperones, including Head Chaperone Marion Glorioso, Paul and Kristin Mlakar, Katheryn Schoeberlein, Gypsie Blair, and Jan and Arnie Holtberg.

Traveling for education, experience, global awareness, and fun, the St. Mark’s Choir spent time listening to other choirs, performing extensively in schools and cathedrals, and sightseeing.

In London, the group was treated as special guests at Westminster Abbey and enjoyed a bus tour and walk around the city. The Choir then traveled to the Wells Cathedral School, where they spent a week performing Evensongs and sightseeing. While in Wells, the Choristers and chaperones had the opportunity to travel to Stonehenge. After a week in Wells, the group moved on to Ely, Cambridgeshire, for another week of Evensong performances and sightseeing before returning to Dallas on July 22.  This is the Choir's 14th biennial international tour. In 2011 the Choir toured South Africa.
