Math Team Sweeps Competition

The Upper School Math Team dominated the Metroplex Math Competition on January 19, 2013, at Parish Episcopal School, winning the Sweepstakes for overall school performance. Even more impressive, the team succeeded with many of its usual members away in Oklahoma for the Guinness Invitations Swim Meet. The Math Team was led by captains Rachit Mohan ’13 and James Rowan ’13 and consisted of Chandler Burke ’13, Christopher Carter ’15, Kaden Han ’17, Nick Jelsma ’15, Sam Libby ’13, Alexander Munoz ’14, Ryan O’Meara ’14, Tim O’Meara ’16, Tim Skapek ’16, and William Su ’15.

In addition to winning the Sweepstakes, St. Mark’s took third place in the 45-minute team event, and the following individuals took home trophies in the listed category (open class is for individuals who have completed the course, closed for those who have not):
 
Kaden Han: 1st Place in both Algebra 1 Open and Geometry Closed
James Rowan: 1st Place in both Precalculus Open and Calculus Open
Sam Libby: 1st Place in Calculus Closed
Nick Jelsma: 3rd Place in both Algebra 1 Open and Calculus Open
Chandler Burke: 3rd Place in Geometry Open
