Students begin their study of photography by working in black and white for the first year. They learn the basics of composition, contrast, and form, learn skills with Photoshop and Bridge, and participate in group critiques in order to learn how to make their photos better. In Upper School, the course progresses through the more technical aspects of photography and introduce color into their work. Lighting equipment and an emphasis on the process helps student produce work that has won the School’s program "Top in Texas" a record ten years in a row.
