    About
     
    Nancy Marmion came to St. Mark’s in 1985 from The Hockaday School, where she taught Spanish. She served as chair of the Language Department from 1994 to 2018. Marmion currently holds the J.J. Connolly Master Teaching Chair, as well as serving as the faculty chair of the Discipline Council, Spanish Club sponsor and co-sponsor of International Week. She earned her A.B. from the College of William and Mary and M.A. from the University of Texas at Austin. She received the John H. Murrell Excellence in Teaching Award in 1989. Marmion is a member of American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) and the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP). In 2018, she received the Life-Long Service Award from the Lone Star Chapter of the AATSP.
