St. Mark’s is excited to announce leadership updates that will help guide the School’s continued advancement and excellence.

On Thursday, May 29, 2025, 102 young men donned white dinner jackets and took the stage in the Ida M. and Cecil H. Green Commencement Theater. As St. Mark’s recognized the incredible Marksmen of the Class of 2025, Eugene McDermott Headmaster David W. Dini presented the three major School prizes.

At the Upper School Final Assembly, the Alumni Association honored Janet Lin as the 2025 recipient of the Ralph B. Rogers Alumni Award. This award recognizes a member of the faculty for their outstanding contributions above and beyond their duties in the classroom.

Last month, St. Mark’s Quiz Bowl teams traveled to Chicago to compete in the Small School National Championship and, once again, brought home the six-foot championship trophy.

At its annual Trustee Dinner on Monday, May 5, 2025, the Board bestowed this distinction upon one of its longest-serving members: Casey McManemin ’79.

The Class of 2025 has chosen to dedicate their yearbook to Nancy Goldberg, student store manager and longtime community member.

After a year of advancing through the MathCounts competition series, Nathan Liu ’29 has been crowned the 2025 National Champion. Nathan attended the national competition, held in Washington, D.C., as one of four students representing Texas.

More than 1,200 alumni and community members came home to campus the weekend of April 24–26 to celebrate Alumni Weekend 2025. Over three memorable days, alumni reconnected with the place and people that helped guide them on their paths to manhood, sharing stories, laughter, and new memories.

St. Mark’s student publications recently collected an impressive sweep of awards and accolades from both state and national organizations.

Aside from juggling homework, co-curriculars, and weekend plans, a group of Marksmen are tackling something much bigger — restoring a piece of Texas’s native Blackland prairie. The Prairie Restoration Crew, a passionate team of young environmentalists, is working to bring back a vanishing ecosystem, one patch of North Texas at a time.

St. Mark’s photography students received significant accolades in recent state and international competitions. The Association of Texas Photography Instructors recently named St. Mark’s the “Top Program” for the 17th time in 19 years. Twelve St. Mark’s Photography students received recognition in the Texas Photographic Society’s 2025 International Student Competition including “Best in Show.”

Upper School students recently concluded Men’s Mental Health Week, an annual tradition that seeks to help boys find balance as they develop in mind, body, and spirit.

Last month, a group of Upper and Middle School students participated in the TI Cup Chinese Speech Contest and the National Chinese Speech Contest, sharpening their skills and passion for Chinese languages.

The Lee S. Smith ’65 Courage & Honor Award Committee is pleased to announce that Colonel Cedric Lee ’96 will be the third recipient of this award, which recognizes alumni who elevate humanity by making a positive impact in the world.

St. Mark’s School of Texas mourns the loss of long-time faculty member Bill Marmion, who passed away on March 29, 2025.

St. Mark’s has long counted members of the Menter B. Terrill Society among its most stalwart supporters. The Society, named for the founder of St. Mark’s predecessor school, recognizes community members who have included St. Mark’s in their long-term philanthropic plans.

Four St. Mark’s teachers traveled to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs to learn about character and leadership from some of the nation’s top soldiers and educators.

A trio of accomplished scientists, including an alum, visited campus Friday, March 7, as part of the 13th annual student-organized STEM Conference. The conference expanded this year to also include presentations by burgeoning Upper School scientists.

The fourth annual Marksmen Multicultural Night brought together students, parents, faculty, and staff to celebrate the numerous cultures represented in the St. Mark’s community.

Dozens of St. Mark’s musicians and choristers have earned recognition for their work through the Texas Private School Music Educators Association (TPSMEA) and Association of Texas Small School Bands (ATSSB).

The Alumni Association’s National Day of Service is a natural extension of St. Mark's mission, providing Marksmen the chance to unite across the country and support their local communities.

A group of Marksmen recently traveled to Boston to enhance their research, speaking, and debating skills at the 2024 Harvard Model United Nations Conference (HMUN).

Across the Middle and Upper School grades, boys have worked tirelessly to assemble and program state-of-the-art robots to compete in a number of competitions, both on the local and national stage.

On January 10, the Secretary of the Navy announced that one of the two future T-AGOS ocean surveillance ships from the Explorer class will be named the USNS Victor Vescovo, currently among the select few ships named in honor of a living individual.

St. Mark’s welcomed five distinguished authors to campus on Friday, January 17, 2025, for its 18th annual Literary Festival.

St. Mark’s ushered in the next chapter of excellence on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, with the dedication of the Zierk Athletic Center and Albert G. Hill, Sr. Family Tennis Center and closed the chapter on what has been by far the largest singled campus development project in school history.

With most colleges on winter break, it was the perfect time to welcome young Marksmen back for a visit. Dozens of alumni from the Classes of 2021-2024 returned to campus on Wednesday, Jan. 8, for College-Age Marksmen Day.

The northeast corner of campus has been bustling with activity as crews put the finishing touches on the 77,000-square-foot Zierk Athletic Center and adjoining Hill Tennis Center. Soon, the sounds of construction will be replaced with the shouts, splashes, and cheers of competition.
