Against Cistercian, the Lions’ singles players, Sam Khoshbin ’14, Will Hardage ’16, and Will Garden ’16 each won in straight sets, as did the #2 doubles team of Daran Zhao ’17 and Gopal Raman ’17. The match of the day was turned in by the #1 doubles team of Anvit Reddy ’16 and Albert Thieu ’16, who won a terrific match in 3 tough sets. On Friday, the team dropped a close match to Jesuit. Singles winners included Captain Sam Khoshbin ’14, Michael Milosevich ’15, and Charlie Golden ’14. This weekend the team will travel to Oklahoma for crucial counter matches against Holland Hall and Casady.

Track & Field
The Varsity Track & Field Team traveled to Trinity Christian Cedar Hill on Saturday, April 5. The smaller than normal squad did not participate in any field events and participated in limited running events. It was good weather conditions for the distance races with cloudy, overcast conditions and temperature around 56 degrees.  The 800m was the most exciting race for the Lions with JT Graass ‘16, Matt Brown ‘14, and Daniel Cope ‘17 finishing 1-3-4 respectively.  JT ran personal record with a time of 1:59.38.  Matt Brown ran his first open 800 and ran a great 2:01.16.  He was followed by Daniel Cope who ran his second PR of the season in 2:04.73.  Of note, Dylan Altschuler ‘14 returned to the active list and ran a respectable 53.0 in the 400m.  The team will participate in the SPC North Zone Meet at Greenhill on Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12.

Lacrosse
The Varsity Lacrosse team got back on track with 2 wins over Plano West and Southlake. They will face rival Highland Park on Tuesday, April 8 in the last home game of the regular season, which will play a role in determining the final district seedings before the playoffs. The Junior Varsity team went 2-0 last week beating Southlake in a thrilling 6-5 overtime game.

Baseball
The Varsity Baseball team played SPC foe Cistercian on Tuesday, April 1.  After falling behind 3-0 in the first inning, the Lions scored four runs to take a one-run lead. Cistercian knotted the game at 4-4 a few innings later, but the Lions roared ahead and scored ten runs in the next couple of innings to secure a 14-5 victory. On Thursday, April 3 St. Mark's faced a tough HSAA team. Although we bashed the ball around the park, the Lions' offense only managed one run and our squad lost a hard-fought battle, 4-1. We play 3 SPC counter games against Trinity Valley at home on Tuesday, April 8 and then travel to Oklahoma to face Holland Hall (Tulsa) and Casady (OKC) on Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12.

Water Polo
The Varsity Water Polo team traveled to The Woodlands to compete in the Allison Maloney Invitational.  This is an important event each year because we get to measure ourselves against some of the best teams Houston has to offer.  After winning two shutouts against Memorial HS (19-0) in the first round and Cy Woods (22-0) in the second round, the Lions faced The Woodlands HS, who is considered by most to be the best team in Houston this year, in the Championship game.  In a very well played game, the Lions prevailed by a score of 13-10.  They play again this Saturday, April 12th against Flower Mound at the Lewisville ISD Westside Aquatics Center.
