Alumnus Shares His Shark Tank Experience

Fresh off of his successful Shark Tank appearance, entrepreneur Eric Kusin ’00 spoke with members of the Student Alumni Association, Telos, and the Investment Club. In October, Eric and his brother Ben ’97 appeared on the reality show, which lets entrepreneurs pitch their businesses to investors, and struck a deal with shark Lori Greiner for their odor-removing swipe Reviver.

During his extensive preparation for the show, Eric recalled much of what he had learned as a student. “St. Mark’s teaches you a ton of stuff that you don’t necessarily realize until much after the fact. You can figure out what you love doing and find your passion much easier than at a larger school.”

Eric first found success as a buyer for Neiman Marcus, before branching off with Ben to begin Reviver. Along the way, he found his fellow Marksmen to be a vital tool.

“The St. Mark’s alumni network is invaluable,” Eric told students. “You have a ton of available mentors out there and everybody wants to see everybody succeed.”

Eric visited campus at the invitation of the Student Alumni Association, which each year invites a member of the Alumni Board to speak at a meeting.
