A Record Year of Giving

Supporters of St. Mark’s School of Texas once again showed their unwavering dedication to ensuring excellence at 10600 Preston Road. Alumni, parents, and friends of the School contributed more than $10 million during the 2011-2012 fiscal year, bringing The Centennial Challenge Campaign even closer to its $110 million goal.

The St. Mark’s Fund also enjoyed a record year, raising more than $2.7 million. The Fund provides 10 percent of the overall operating budget and, with the endowment income, makes up the nearly $8,000 gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating each student. Fifty-three percent of alumni contributed to the fund, maintaining the School’s nationally recognized participation rate. Reunion classes were instrumental to the Fund’s successful year, including the classes of ’07, ’02, ’97, ’87, ’77, ’67, and ‘62. Most notably, the class of ’77 became the first class to raise more than $200,000 in a single year. Additionally, the parents also recorded a superb 88% overall participation rate with 100% of Lower School families making gifts this year.

The St. Mark’s community looks forward to capping off The Centennial Challenge at the end of June, 2013, and leading the School into another century of excellence.
