Janet Lin Receives Rogers Award

At the Upper School Final Assembly, the Alumni Association honored Janet Lin as the 2025 recipient of the Ralph B. Rogers Alumni Award. This award recognizes a member of the faculty for their outstanding contributions above and beyond their duties in the classroom.

Eugene McDermott Headmaster David W. Dini said, “Janet has fully immersed herself in the School, never settling for anything less than a first class experience for the boys and our community. A nominator put it best saying, ‘on a campus full of hard working and dedicated faculty members, her commitment to her students and her craft is second to none.’”

Since joining the Foreign Language Department in 2016, Janet Lin has become a deeply involved and highly respected member of the St. Mark’s community. Known for her tireless commitment to students, she leads cultural exchanges, oversees student programs, and coordinates the all-school Lunar New Year celebration. A Cum Laude faculty member, she’s also served as a Class Sponsor and on the Discipline Council. In recognition of her passion and dedication, Lin was appointed the Gene and Allice Oltrogge Master Teaching Chair in 2022.

During the award nomination process, one of the nominators noted, “Each summer, Janet helps her students get jobs and internships at the Chinese camp at the University of Texas at Dallas. If there is anyone who goes above and beyond, it is Janet Lin.”

The three finalists for the Rogers Award - Teri Broom, Zuming Feng, and Janet Lin -  were announced at the Spring Alumni Dinner in April.

The Ralph B. Rogers Alumni Award was established by the St. Mark’s Alumni Association in 1998 to honor faculty and staff for their pioneering contributions to the School community in academic, athletic, and extracurricular areas that go above and beyond the confines of their job descriptions, thus extending the boundaries of the learning experience for St. Mark’s students.
