QB Named Ford Player of the Week

During St. Mark's Homecoming pep rally on Friday, October 26, 2012, junior John Webb ’14 was named a Built Ford Tough Texas High School Football Player of the Week. The award was presented by Fortunes O'Neal and Angela Enright of Park Cities Ford, who also presented a trophy to varsity football coach Bart Epperson. Only halfway through the season, John has already amassed more than 2,000 passing yards and 20 touchdowns.

"John is an amazing student of the game," said Coach Epperson. "He's a fierce competitor who's also a quiet leader. John is the type of player who coaches love."

The Player of the Week award singles out student-athletes who excel in three major categories: athletic achievement, leadership within the team, and success in academics and citizenship. Each week, Ford names five Texas students from each of the public school classifications and one private school student.
