    A member of the Nasher Sculpture Center Teacher Advisory Board, Suzuko Davis began her St. Mark’s career in 2013, where she is a member of the Fine Arts faculty, teaching classes in Lower School art. Previously, she worked at the Nasher Sculpture Center as a gallery teacher. Before moving to Dallas, she lived in New York where she worked as a studio assistant to several artists and in the fabrication department at the Guggenheim Museum of Art. Additionally, she was on the faculty at the Pelham Art Center in Pelham, NY where she taught classes for both children and adults and was an outreach educator working with a wide variety of local communities. At St. Mark’s, she is sponsor of the American Sign Language and the Digital Art clubs. She received the John H. Murrell Excellence in Teaching Award in 2020.

    Beginning her St. Mark’s career in 2015, Valerie Davis is a member of the Mathematics Department, where she teaches mathematics to sixth and seventh graders. Davis earned a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University and master’s degree in education from Texas Christian University. Prior to joining St. Mark’s she taught middle school math and science at St. Rita School in Fort Worth. Additionally, she was the math specialist for grades 1-8 in addition to teaching middle school math at The Oakridge School in Arlington. She then moved to California and taught middle school mathematics at the San Domenico School in San Anselmo, CA. She serves as the faculty sponsor for the Middle School MATHCOUNTS team and is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. She received the John H. Murrell Excellence in Teaching Award in 2022.

    P. Matthew Dillon joined the St. Mark’s faculty in 2018 and currently serves as Lower School science specialist. Dillon earned his bachelor’s degree from Toccoa Falls College and a Master of Arts degree from Columbia University. He previously taught elementary grades in public schools in New York and Texas. He also developed and taught science programs (which incorporated technology, reading, art, engineering and math) in private schools in Hawaii. He was the recipient of the John H. Murrell Excellence in Teaching Award in 2023.

    Currently the School’s 17th headmaster, David W. Dini is serving as the Eugene McDermott headmaster, a position to which he was appointed in 2013. Dini earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Southern Methodist University. Beginning his St. Mark’s career in 1994, he previously served as assistant headmaster and helped develop the School’s Advancement Office as director of Development. Besides his administrative roles here, he has served as varsity tennis coach, been an adviser in the junior and senior class rotations and chaperoned domestic and international student trips. He has served as a board member for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), the International Boys School Coalition and other nonprofit organizations. He has received the Robert Bell Crow Memorial Award and the Crystal Apple Award from CASE.

    Julie Doerge joined the St. Mark’s faculty in 2006 and is the school nurse. Doerge earned her A.D. from Ferris State University and is a registered nurse (RN). She previously worked ten years at the Hockaday School, six years at the Kingwood School and worked six years overseas in England and Switzerland. Doerge spent two summers working at the Dallas Health and Human Services with Dr. Wendy Chung. She is a member of the National Association of School Nurses and the Texas School Nurse Association. Doerge received both the Ralph B. Rogers Alumni Award and the Marksmen yearbook dedication in 2022.
