Ken Hersh ’81 Leads Bush Center

On May 31, 2016, St. Mark’s past Board President and Distinguished Alumnus Ken Hersh ’81 assumed the role of President and CEO of the George W. Bush Presidential Center. The Bush Center hosts the newly opened Bush Presidential Library and Museum on the campus of Southern Methodist University in Dallas as well as the George W. Bush Policy Institute and the offices of the George W. Bush Foundation.
 
“Ken has been an outstanding executive and strategic thinker with proven results in the private sector and in our community for many years,” said President George W. Bush. “His skills and experience will serve him well as he leads our world-class team at the Bush Center in our ongoing efforts to generate consistently high returns on philanthropic capital. Ken shares our values and has the right set of skills to help ensure the work of the Bush Center will be sustained for generations.”
 
Ken Hersh ’81 is the cofounder and CEO of NGP Energy Capital Management, a premier investment franchise in the natural resources industry with over $15 billion of cumulative committed capital since inception. Recognized as a leader in the energy trading and natural gas market, Ken has led NGP to become one of the nation’s top investment firms. He will remain as Chairman of NGP and continue to sit on its various investment committees.
