Fire Station Dedication

St. Mark’s maintains a strong connection with its neighbors, and that bond became even tighter following the October 2019 tornado. Just a few blocks from campus, Dallas Firehouse #41 was completely destroyed in the storm.

This morning, students and teachers joined Dallas Fire & Rescue in dedicating the rebuilt Firehouse #41, with the St. Mark’s Choir singing the national anthem and headmaster David Dini reading the invocation. The crowd was also greeted by another Dallas #41 – former Mavericks superstar Dirk Nowitzki.

Inside Firehouse #41, the story of the 2019 tornado is memorialized on a plaque that was custom-made by makerspace director Stewart Mayer and wood and metal teacher Rachel Muldez.
