ReMarker named Pacemaker Finalist

The 2015–2016 ReMarker student newspaper has been named a finalist for the Pacemaker Award by the National Scholastic Press Association, headquartered in Minneapolis, the highest award given by the national organization.

The ReMarker joins 50 other student newspapers from around the country as Pacemaker finalists. Winners of the Pacemaker award will be announced at NSPA’s fall convention in Indianapolis in November.

Editor of The ReMarker was Philip Smart ‘16, now a Morehead-Cain scholar at the University of North Carolina.

Other alums from the class of 2016 who held key positions on the staff include Bradford Beck, William Caldwell, Cameron Clark, Will Clark, Arno Goetz, Noah Koecher, Davis Marsh, Aidan Maurstad, Roby Mize, Philip Montgomery, Zachary Naidu, Avery Powell, Anvit Reddy and Abhi Thummala.

Current students who held leadership positions on the 2016 publication include seniors Rish Basu, Aiden Blinn, John Crawford, Carson Crocker, Corday Cruz, Case Lowry, Crawford McCrary, Parker McWatters, Gopal Raman and Frank Thomas.
