|Senior Named Player of the Week|
John Caldwell ’14 is named Texas HS Football Built Ford Tough Private School Player of the Week; the Cross Country team competes in Denton; the volleyball team win double matches.
|All-American Water Polo Players|
USA Water Polo announced its Academic All-Americans this past week. Nine Marksmen Water Polo players received the prestigous honor. They are: Michael Gilliland, George Lin, Matt Mahowald, Bradley Mankoff, Connor Olson, Nathan Ondracek, Josh Perkins, Jack Piggott, and Warren Smtih. The National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association also announced its Water Polo All-Americans. Timothy Simenc was named to the 2nd team and was only one of 4 sophomores in the country to make the 1st or 2nd teams. Jack Mallick was named to the 3rd team, and Warren Smith was named to the 4th team.
|Cross Country Team in Invitational|
The Varsity Cross Country team, currently ranked 3rd in the state among private schools, ran int he Southlake Carroll Invitaional 5A race this past Saturday. The team finished 8th our of 29 schools and was led by Matthew Brown (16:22) and JT Graass (16:30) who both ran lifetime best times. They were supported by Chris Carter, harrison Perkins, Danile Cope, Nick Buckenham, Dean Addy, and Vishal Gokani.
|Volleyball Team Wins Tournament|
The Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Houston to compete in the Houston Cup on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 6-7. The team finished the tournament undefeated in bracket play, winning the Houston Cup for hte second year in a row. The team plays again this Thursday at home against Greenhill at 5:30pm.
|First Game Victory|
The Varsity Football team opened their season with a 40-20 win at home over art HS. The Lions scored the first 37 points of the game. QB John Webb threw for 321 yards and connected with 4 different receivers (William Caldwell, John Caldwell, Case Brabham, and Andrew Patison) for the touchdowns. Justin Jones led the team in rushing with 56 yards and one touchdown. The Lions will take the field again this Thursday in their first conference game at Cistercian beginning at 7:00p.m. No Friday contests in observance of Yom Kippur.

The Varsity Lacrosse team won the SPC Championship Tournament in Austin.

The St. Mark’s Varsity Water Polo team participated in the North Texas Regional Championship, winning the Regional Title for the 12th year in a row.

Varsity tennis, baseball, lacrosse, and waterpolo came away with some impressive wins this week.

The Varsity Track & Field team hosted a six-school meet and saw several of its runners win big and break records.

Not content with merely winning first place at the Metroplex Middle School Championships, four Lion swimmers also broke several of the meet's records.

The varsity swim team won big over Greenhill and several wrestlers finished high in the Texas Prep State Tournament.

During St. Mark's Homecoming pep rally on Friday, October 26, 2012, junior John Webb ’14 was named a Built Ford Tough Texas High School Football Player of the Week.
