Fall SPC Championship

SPC Championship Update
The varsity volleyball team will play in the SPC Championship on Saturday at 2:00, in Hicks Gym. 

Cross country will compete on Saturday at 9:25 a.m. at Norbuck Park.

Football
The varsity football team concluded its season this past Friday night with a game against ESD at home. Twelve senior Marksmen led their team and gave it their all in their last game in Norma and Lamar Hunt stadium, but came up just short, losing the game 12-14. Senior Colin Neuhoff finished the season with 945-yards passing and 14 TDs (12 passing and 2 rushing) while senior Jonathan Taylor led the team in rushing with 637-yards (5.6 yds/att) and 7 TDs. Senior wide receiver Ryan Warner led the team in receiving yards with 550 while junior Paxton Scott caught the most receiving TDs (7). On the defensive side of the ball, juniors Carr Urschel and Taylor Hopkin made life hard for opposing QBs, senior linebackers John Harbison and Davis Malouf were key players in stopping the run game and were the leaders in tackles on the team, and defensive backs Blake Rogers, a senior, and junior Anthony Andrews shut down the opponents passing game.

Volleyball
The varsity volleyball team defeated Ft. Worth Country Day on Tuesday and secured the SPC North Zone #2 seed at the SPC Tournament. The team has one more non-conference game against TBVA on Tuesday, November 6, at 6:30 p.m. to tune up for the tournament. This is also senior night for four varsity volleyball players: Parker Davis, Albert Luo, Billy Stalder, and Mark Tao. The SPC Boys Volleyball Tournament will be hosted by St. Mark’s for the first time in over 20 years and will be held in both the Hicks and Spencer Gyms all day on Friday and much of Saturday, November 9 and 10. Cross Country
On Friday, October 26, the varsity cross country team traveled to Oklahoma City to compete in the SPC North Zone meet. The Lions dominated the race, taking 1st overall with eight runners finishing in the top 20 to earn All-North Zone honors. They were: senior Seth Weprin (2nd), junior Pablo Arroyo (3rd), junior Tyler Nussbaumer (5th), junior Andres Arroyo (6th), sophomore Julian Ivarra(7th), senior George Lamb (8th), senior Michael Lukowicz (11th), and junior Devan Patel (17th). The Lions will race in the SPC Championship meet this Saturday morning, November 10, at 9:25 a.m. at Norbuck Park in Dallas.

ALUMNI SPORTS NEWS
Jack Gordon ’15, a member of the Cornell University Basketball team, was named team captain for his senior season. Read more HERE.

Alden James ’16, a member of the MIT Lightweight Crew team, helped his 4+ crew to a 10th place finish in their division at the Head of the Charles Regatta in late October. This Regatta is one of the biggest rowing events in the world, attracting over 11.000 rowers and tens of thousands of spectators.
