Clothing Drive Finishes Strong

Thanks to the generosity of students, parents, faculty, and staff, the Community Service Board collected more than 2,600 new and gently used clothing items during its annual Clothing Drive. Over the course of two weeks, Community Service Board members stood at morning carpool, collecting donations destined for St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store, Genesis Thrift Store, Austin Street Center, North Dallas Shared Ministries, and other metroplex organizations.

“The Clothing Drive is important to all Marksmen because we have a responsibility and duty to our community,” said Benny Wang ’21, who chaired the Clothing Drive with Devan Patel ’20. “Marksmen should care because we are not just students – we are members of a greater community and are called to support one another.”

Every year, the Community Service Board leads several schoolwide collection drives, including the Clothing, Gift, and Spring Basket Drives. These collections allow students to organize and lead meaningful endeavors that fulfill St. Mark’s second mission of supporting the Dallas community. Additionally, students learn the importance of stepping up as leaders in their communities, whether that be within their class, the School, or the city.
