Marksmen Return to Serve

As students, Marksmen are taught to support and improve the communities in which they live and this lesson stays with them long after Commencement. On June 14, 2018, more than two dozens from the classes of 2004 to the newest graduates put this lesson into action at annual Young Alumni Community Service Event at Austin Street Center. While members of the Blues Club band rocked the house, alumni passed out burgers donated by McDonald’s and snack bags to the residents.

“It was so amazing to meet fellow St. Mark’s graduates at an event built on the same values of service and selflessness that we developed while at St. Mark's,” said new alum Davis Bailey ’18. “Seeing Marksmen of all ages come together to serve and connect with those at Austin Street was a wonderful experience.”

St. Mark’s has long maintained a special relationship with Austin Street Center. As part of the Community Service Program, Upper School Marksmen serve dinner four times a year and play Bingo with the guests on Wednesdays. Each November the Junior Class hosts McDonald’s Week to raise support for the Center.
