State Champion Mathletes

The Middle School Math Team added up some impressive victories at the Texas Math and Science Coaches Association Competition in San Antonio, over the weekend of April 21, 2018. Eighteen Middle Schoolers competed against hundreds of students from schools across the state. When the final points were tallied, two Marksmen were crowned state champions: Kevin Lu ’24 in General Math and Vardhan Agnihotri ’24 in Science. As a whole, the St. Mark’s team placed seventh out of 55 schools.

“There was some fierce competition throughout the weekend, but our boys did an outstanding job representing St. Mark’s,” said Lynne Steckler, who coaches the team along with fellow Middle School Math Teacher Jeff Hale.
