Fencing
The varsity fencing team hosted the St. Mark’s Open on Saturday, its only home event of the year. The Lions Fencers competed in all three fencing weapons in the tournament against other club athletes and collegiate athletes from around the state. He was followed by Noah Carr ’19 (11th), Vikram Ekambaram ’21 (14th), Andrew Li ’18 (16th), Tianming Xie ’20 (17th), Donovan Graves ’21 (18th), Rikhil Manduva ’21 (19th), and several others who finished outside of the top 20.  In the Men’s Senior Foil, Christopher Wang ’20 tied for 3rd.

Volleyball
The varsity volleyball team played a counter match against Trinity Valley at home on Tuesday. The Trojans came out strong and took the first game of the match 21-25. The Lions regrouped and dominated game 2 (25-15). After the Lions took game 3 (25-21), the teams played a very competitive 4th game. The Lions were able to hold off several TVS game points and rallied to win 29-27 to secure the match, winning 3-1. This week the Lions host the Texas Boys Volleyball Association Club team made up of players from around the metroplex on Friday at 6:30 pm.

Cross Country
The varsity cross country team competed in the Jesuit XC Classic this past Friday. Competing in the 6A-5A race, on a very challenging course, the Lions finished 5th out of 35 schools. The times were understandably slower but the boys competed very well. Andres Arroyo ’20 led the team with a 14th place finish and he was followed by Seth Weprin ’19 (16th) and Pablo Arroyo ’20 (28th). This week the team runs in the Trinity Valley Invitational on this year's SPC course (Athletic Performance Ranch in Ft. Worth). Many schools from the SPC South will be traveling up for the meet which should make for great competition. This race will act as a small "preview" of the SPC race which will take place on November 11.

Football
The varsity football team was off last week. They resume their season this Friday night at home against Houston Christian at 7:00 p.m.
