Class of 2002 Breaks Record

In April, the Class of 2002 celebrated their 15th Reunion during Alumni Weekend 2017. Fifty-five classmates and guests attended the Reunion, hosted at the home of Stefanie and Michael Prentiss. Classmates began the weekend by playing a round of golf, followed by the Spring Alumni Dinner, where it was announced that the Class of 2002 broke the 15th Reunion giving record. To celebrate the good news, the Class later went to the Time Out Tavern with their Hockaday alumnae counterparts.

The Reunion Committee, led by Robbie Baty, Seth Collins, and Michael Prentiss, began discussing plans and ideas early in the school year. Committee meetings at the School occurred frequently as the Class made it their goal to break the 15th Reunion giving record, a record previously held by the class of 2001. Excitement began to build and by April the Class of 2002 surpassed their goal by raising $75,532, continuing the record breaking streak achieved during their 5th and 10th Reunions.

“St. Mark's alums do such a great job of rallying together as a class during reunion years,” Robbie said. “To break the 15th Reunion record shows that our class still appreciates and values their experience at St. Mark’s.”

Seth Collins reflected on one of the biggest highlights of the weekend, honoring Curtis Smith for his 40-year St. Mark’s career during the Spring Alumni Dinner. “He was my English teacher twice during high school and was someone I really enjoyed and appreciated. After such a long tenure at the School, he has affected countless people’s lives, and it was great to see him getting the attention he deserved for his devotion to the School and its students.”

The Class of 2002, motivated by their love and passion for St. Mark’s, continues to demonstrate philanthropy and commitment that will inspire and impact future generations of Marksmen.
