Seniors Mentor Freshmen

Last week, the Class of 2017 hosted the second-annual Senior/Freshman mentoring breakfast in the amphitheater before school. Over breakfast tacos, the seniors paired off to share advice and answer questions about their Upper School careers, covering topics from study tips to the best clubs to join.

“The transition from Middle to Upper School is a large change, and we think that the seniors can help the freshmen with that transition while using the program to connect to the younger grades,” said Andrew Lin ’17, one of the organizers of the breakfast. “Because of the closeness of the St. Mark's community, everyone has something in common with their buddies.”

The breakfast is a continuation of the program started by the Class of 2016. This year’s program is organized by Leadership & Ethics Council Co-Chairs Andrew Lin ’17 and Gopal Raman ’17 and Assistant Chair Edward Ro ’18. The Council has planned two more breakfasts and are encouraging the seniors and their freshmen buddies to look for more opportunities to interact.
