2015 Commencement Speaker Announced

The Class of 2015 has selected Sam Acho ’07 as their Commencement Speaker. After graduating from St. Mark’s, Sam attended The University of Texas where he played football and was in the honors program at the McCombs School of Business. In his senior year, Sam was voted team MVP and was awarded the William V. Campbell Trophy, given to the nation’s top College Scholar-Athlete. After graduating from UT, he was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals as an outside linebacker. This offseason, Sam signed with the Chicago Bears.

Every summer, Sam joins his brother, Manny ’08, and their parents on medical mission trips to Nigeria where they are working to build a hospital. In addition, he is nearing completion of an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University. Despite his busy schedule, Sam has also returned to St. Mark’s several times, delivering Chapel talks and spending time with Lower Schoolers. A true servant leader, Sam certainly embodies the values of “Courage and Honor,” setting a great example for those who follow in his footsteps. Sam is married and he and his wife have one son.

Sam will deliver the address at Commencement on Friday, May 22, 2015.
