DISD Superintendent Speaks with Parents

At a packed joint meeting of the St. Mark’s and Hockaday Parents’ Associations, parents and faculty had the opportunity to hear from Mike Miles, Superintendent of the Dallas Independent School District, and Todd Williams, Executive Director of COMMIT! and a St. Mark’s parent.

The meeting opened with a presentation on St. Mark’s and Hockaday’s involvement with various DISD schools, where both students and parents volunteer to help increase reading comprehension. Todd Williams stressed the importance of involvement with the public school system and the responsibility of students to better the world around them. Mike Miles reiterated this sentiment and elaborated on DISD’s efforts to improve the overall performance of students, focusing on early childhood education and expanding school choice.
