David Dini Becomes Eighteenth Headmaster

After more than a year of careful planning and preparation, St. Mark’s School of Texas has successfully completed the leadership transition from one Headmaster to another. Effective July 1, 2014, David Dini became St. Mark’s eighteenth Headmaster and in doing so began his twenty-first year of service at the School. Dini’s selection as Headmaster was announced last November after an extensive nationwide search to find a successor for Arnold E. Holtberg, who retired this year after leading the School for more than two decades.

“It has been a privilege to serve alongside Arnie,” said Dini, “and I am deeply honored to follow in his footsteps and lead this great School forward as we begin our 109th year. Our mission is clear and compelling; we seek to develop boys into men of character who will make positive and important contributions around the globe.”

A Transition Committee was appointed by the Board of Trustees earlier this year to support the change in leadership. Made up of community leaders including faculty, administrators, Trustees, alumni, students, and parents, the Committee has been working closely with both Mr. Holtberg and Mr. Dini for months to ensure a smooth and effective transition.
