Engineering Team Wins National Competition

Over the summer, St. Mark’s students took home top honors at the national Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics and Science competition. In front of 5,000 students, sponsors, staff, and industry professionals at the Technology Student Association national conference, the St. Mark’s A-Team was awarded the first-ever TEAMS National Best-in-Nation trophy for the junior/senior division.

In February, the A-Team took top honors at the local competition held at the University of Texas at Dallas and earned the highest score at both the state and national levels. The sophomore B-Team also took top honors at the state level for the best overall score at the freshman/sophomore level of competition, while the sophomore A-Team won the local competition.

St. Mark's boys have participated in the TEAMS competition for more than 20 years. This competition, originally sponsored by the Junior Engineering and Technical Society (JETS), pits groups of up to eight students against each other to solve college-level engineering problems.
