The Lions stormed out of the gate, putting up 34 unanswered points in the first half on 3 rushing TDs by Anthony Andrews (x2) and Kason Roberson and 2 receiving TDs by Paxton Scott. With the large lead, the Lions were able to get extra work for many of the backups in a game that saw St. Mark’s improve in almost every facet of the game. Andrews threw for 264 yards and 2 TDs and ran for another 100 yards and 2 TDs (almost all of that in just the first half). Scott caught 3 passes for 131 yards and 2 TDs and Conor Duffy caught 5 passes for 88 yards. Roberson rushed for 56 yards and a touchdown. The Lions are off this week and will begin their SPC 4A counter schedules on September 20 against the defending SPC Champions, the Kinkaid Falcons.

The Lions went 1-1 on Friday afternoon defeating Awty International School (2-1) but falling to HVA Performance Club (0-2). Early Saturday, the team faced EHS and fell 1-2. Worth Country Day (2-0), St. Stephen’s (2-0), and Houston Stars VBC (2-0) on their way to winning the Silver Bracket. This week the Lions travel to Greenhill for their first best of 5 match of the season and then host Casady in an important SPC counter game in the home opener on Friday at 6:00 p.m.
