1967 Season

The Summer of Love tested the limits of endurance for the company and staff.   First and foremost among the challenges was a change of venue; when the St. Mark's facilities abruptly became unavailable, the company landed in Garrett Hall at the Church of the Incarnation. Another hurdle was the ambitious schedule; five new productions were originally planned, but one (The Enchanted) had to be deferred to the 1968 season after production pressures became insurmountable. The season featured three large-cast productions, including the company's first musical (Oliver!). Well-known Harlequins making their first appearances in 1967 included John Alberts, Celia Cook, Peter Lutken, Sara Taubman, and Christy Westerheim.
