From the Athletic Director

From the Headmaster

Dear Marksmen Athletes, Parents, Coaches, and Friends,
As we near the conclusion of the 2020-2021 school year, I want to express my profound gratitude to each and every one of you. The unprecedented nature of this school year has certainly tested all of us in new and unexpected ways, and yet you have remained steadfast in your commitment to finding ways to make the most of every opportunity. From the very beginning, our athletes, coaches, and families have focused on making this a positive and meaningful year for St. Mark’s athletics. I am grateful to all of our boys for demonstrating continued commitment and dedication, often in the face of significant challenges.
The values and lessons that Marksmen learn and develop in athletics are an integral part of their overall education at St. Mark’s. These experiences are incredibly important as they make their way on the path to manhood. For 115 years, our athletic programs have provided excellent opportunities for boys to stretch themselves physically and emotionally, developing vitally important life skills, including perseverance, discipline, and teamwork.
This year, our teams not only delivered strong performances but also exhibited exemplary sportsmanship on and off the field. Supported by dedicated coaches and enthusiastic parents, Marksmen developed an even greater appreciation for the value of competing in all the right ways. Learning to win and lose with dignity is an essential life lesson that will endure long after the final whistle blows.
It is our sincere hope that every one of our athletes not only enjoys his time competing as a Lion, but more importantly, that he carries with him valuable and meaningful life lessons. We are particularly grateful to all of you who supported our athletic programs throughout the course of the past year.  As always, it has been a genuine pleasure and privilege for Nancy and me to cheer on the Lions. While it has been a challenging period, our boys have demonstrated exceptional leadership every step of the way.
Thank you for supporting St. Mark’s athletics.
