Winter Sports Teams in Action

The Varsity Wrestling team competed in the Rockwall Invitational this past weekend.  The team finished in 4th place out of 18 teams. Winston Brewer ’14 (132 lbs.) and Zach Papin ’14 (138 lbs.) won their respective weight classes.  Other notable finishes included Jimmy Papin ’13 – 2nd at 160 lbs., Will Moor ’13 – 2nd at 170 lbs., and Nick Brodsky ’14 – 3rd at 182 lbs.  Andy Rubarth ’16 (2nd) and Stephen Chen ’16 (4th) were the top performers at the JV tournament. This weekend the team will take part in the Colleyville Heritage Tournament.

The Varsity Basketball squad is on a two game win streak after beating Arlington Burton (63-34) and Yavneh Academy (63-46) last week.  They will try to continue their winning ways this week in the Trinity Valley Tournament, which will begin on Thursday, December 6.

The Varsity Soccer team played two very close games last week; unfortunately, they came out on the wrong end of both matches, losing each by just a single goal.  The team returns to action against Bishop Lynch on the road and will take on Trinity Christian at home on Thursday, December 6, at 5:00 p.m.

The Varsity Swim team hosts the St. Mark’s Invitational on Thursday, December 6, in its first competition of the season.  Swimming starts at 5:45 p.m. in the Rogers Natatorium.
