Winter Sports Season Kicks Off

The season is already well underway for the Varsity Wrestling team. The squad competed in the Arlington Open on November 17, with some impressive results. Three wrestlers finished in 3rd place in their respective divisions: Winston Brewer ’14 (138 lbs.), Zach Papin ’14 (145 lbs.), and Jimmy Papin ’13 (160 lbs.). The following weekend, several wrestlers traveled to the highly competitive Oklahoma Open. Jimmy and Zach Papin both finished in the top-6 in their respective weight classes; additionally, Winston Brewer and Justin Jones ’15 both had good showings. The wrestling team will compete this Saturday in the Rockwall Invitational.

The Varsity Soccer team has played four non-conference games to start the season. They are currently 2-2-1, including wins over Parish Episcopal and Prestonwood Christian and two narrow defeats, both at the hands of John Paul II. The team will take to the pitch against ESD at Norma and Lamar Hunt Family Stadium this Friday at 7:00.
