Varsity Football Ends Season

The 2012 Lions’ Football season came to an end on Saturday, November 3, as the team fell one win short of a trip to the SPC Championship game with a loss to Kinkaid (Houston). The teams traded TDs most of the game, and the score was locked at 21-21 at the end of the three quarters. The first three Lion TDs were scored by Danny Koudelka '13 (pass from John Webb '14), Kendrick Spraglin '13 (pass from Webb), and a 54 yard interception return for a TD by Reid Thompson '13. In the 4th quarter, Kinkaid struck first with a rushing TD with 7:50 left in the game, but Kinkaid only led for 15 seconds as Danny Koudelka returned the ensuing kickoff 75 yards for a TD. With only 1:13 left in the game, Kinkaid took the lead back for good with a 42 yard TD pass, and then sealed the victory with an interception return for a TD as the Lions were in the hurry up mode with only seconds remaining. The team had a great season and represented the School well this season.
