Federal Reserve Welcomes Alumni

On Thursday, February 19, 2015, more than 200 alumni and guests gathered at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas for the latest installment of the Alumni Leadership Speaker Series featuring Richard W. Fisher, President and CEO of the Dallas Fed. Mr. Fisher, who is the father of Anders ’95 and Miles ’02, presented a frank and relatable report on the current condition of the national economic climate, highlighting the enviable state of Texas’ robust economy and sharing some behind-the-scenes details of the Fed’s efforts to combat the recent recession. Mr. Fisher also offered some anecdotes from his storied career, which included participating directly in talks that established economic relations with China and working closely with British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

After a brief Q&A session, alumni and guests were invited to walk through the Fed’s Economy in Action exhibit for a self-guided tour through the history of American banking.
