The Cecil and Ida Green Library and the Lower School Library serve as centers for academic research, study, and recreational reading. The libraries' combined collections include 47,000 volumes, 120 print periodical titles, 3200 historical microfilm reels, 400 audio books, 900 videotapes, and subscriptions to 25 online research databases containing thousands of magazines, newspapers, encyclopedias, scholarly journals, primary documents, and books. The libraries' automated catalog Dynix Horizon, is a sophisticated automation system originally funded by the Parents' Association Auctions in 1994 and 1995. Students can access the library resources via the Internet on eleven computers in the Green Library and seven computers in the Lower School Library. Additionally, members of the St. Mark's community can access both the Horizon catalog and the subscription databases from any computer on or off campus. The libraries provide the students, faculty, and staff with quiet study environments for research, homework, and recreational reading. Four librarians with Masters' degrees in Library and Information Science and a technical services assistant manage the libraries. The librarians partner with fellow faculty members to teach library and information literacy skills in conjunction with assigned research projects. Parent volunteers, students in service, and faculty proctors provide invaluable support to the library programs.

The Research Room in the Green Library is available to students for academic research unless a class has signed up to use it. The Research Room computers are reserved for academic research only.
